“Venice is like eating an entire box of chocolate liqueurs in one go.”
― Truman Capote
It is true. Venice is one of the most beautiful places on this earth. It is more than the art, music, food and pure romance in the air. It's so easy to get caught up in the feeling of a city like Venice, where everything is just beautiful color and gorgeous buildings that are so peaceful. You can roam around and get lost in the labyrinth. In Venice, things are not always as they first appear; they have an air of mystery surrounding them. You may think I exaggerate but I can promise you that I am not. Venice holds that kind of magic that can never run out. Venice is more than a place. More than a dot in the universe. Venice is the exact feeling of not being able to describe what you feel. I cannot write about Venice; No one is able to. I can only write about me, and the sleeping parts of myself that Venice has shocked into wakefulness. You can never shake off that memory.
Venice is the city full of miracles. This was Venice, the flattering and suspect beauty - this city, half fairy tale and half tourist trap, in whose insalubrious air the arts once rankly and voluptuously blossomed, where composers have been inspired to lulling tones of somniferous eroticism.(Thomas Mann, Death in Venice)
Wherever you go in life, you will always feel that no other place gets you, that no other place breathes when you do. No other place falls when a beautiful stranger passes by.
Don't try to explain it. Magic can't be logical. If heaven exists, it has to look something like Venice.
